Oak Ridge Sportsman Association

Rifle & Pistol Club

The Oak Ridge Sportsman's Association Rifle and Pistol Shooters are a diverse and cohesive group of men and women that practice the art and science of competitive precision rifle and pistol marksmanship on some of the finest ranges in the US. They are organized, motivated, welcoming, knowledgeable, and backed by years of experience as competitors. They are willing to do their very best to get you started if you are a beginner, or a seasoned competitor and new to the club. We are backed and well-funded up by an excellent and supportive board of directors at the association level. All initiatives to maintain and improve our facilities and programs have been addressed with new plans in the works. Come shoot a match with us, participate in a new shooter clinic, or come out to a practice session and meet us. We would love to have you be part of our club!

Rifle

Competitive rifle events at ORSA are the most diverse and numerous of any club in the United States and is one of the few civilian-owned and controlled 1000 yard rifle ranges. We enjoy an active High Power Rifle program with CMP, NRA, and Palma Council sanctioned events. During the shooting season, over 70 sanctioned and informal events are held, including NRA and CMP High Power, Long Range, and Smallbore, air and rimfire benchrest, CMP M1 Garand, M1903 Springfield, M1 Carbine, Vintage Military, and Vintage Sniper Team, Springfield M1-A, and black powder matches. Our competitors include national champions, and ORSA has sent teams to the Camp Perry National Matches every year since the early 50s. Our rifle shooters are welcoming and anxious to help you get started, so please join us the first chance you get.

Pistol

The pistol shooters at ORSA fire matches in a climate-controlled, newly-renovated indoor range, as well as at a manicured outdoor range equipped with turning targets. Events include NRA Bullseye matches, CMP Leg Matches, and to help you keep your skills honed, there is an informal pistol league that meets nearly every week during the year.
