Gun Laws in Tennessee Seminar

An Educational Event sponsored by ORSA

This program will include an overview of the 2nd Amendment right to bear arms, federal statutes, governing the purchase and ownership of certain types of firearms, Tennessee statutes regarding the purchase, ownership, carrying and use of firearms, the use of firearms in self-defense in Tennessee, and ongoing legislative activity surrounding Tennessee citizens' rights related to carrying firearms. It is expected that this program will be approved for one hour of CLE credit for those interested.

Specific Issues to be Discussed:

  • General TN Law on "Going Armed" for Non-Permit Holders
  • Tennessee Handgun Carry Permit Statute (In Depth)
  • Private Property Rights vs. 2nd Amendment Rights
  • Guns In Bars, Parks, School Property, Courtrooms, Posted Parking Lots' and Vehicles
  • Overview of TN Self Defense Laws
  • Overview of the National Firearms Act and NFA Items (Title II Weapons) [Commonly referred to mistakenly as Class III Items]
  • Recent developments in Federal Case Law re: 2nd Amendment Rights

Where: at the Oak Ridge Sportsmen's Association Clubhouse

Cost: $35 for Members; $50 for Non-members. Preregistration is required. Actual payment will be received by personal checks or cash at the Clubhouse the date of the seminar. Pizza and drinks will be served
